0.9.8: GS Plugin Failed to Load at "First Time Config"
#1
Hi,

So I'm new here but not new to PCSX2 and recently I upgraded my system (PC specs in my sig)

I'm at "First Time Configuration" and whenever I select GSdx 4600 (MSVC 15.00, SSE41) 0.1.16 or (MSVC 15.00, SSE3) 0.1.16 - I get this message.

"The selected GS plugin failed to load.

Reason: The plugin reports that your hardware or software/drivers are not supported"

(Posted the pull message as an attachment/sceenshot)

I've tried reinstalling PCSX2 a few times (in C:\Program Files, in C:\Program Files (x86) and just C:\) - just get the same results unless I use SSE2. Can anyone help or give advice?

Thanks in advance.

Ok Then update your DirectX from here DirectX Redistributable.

And download this PCSX2. Install Microsoft Visual c++ Runtime 2010 x86.

I have the latest DX and redistributables, it's the 2nd or 3rd thing I do after doing a fresh install of Windows (Windows, drivers, updates (DX9, Visual++, .NET 3.5/4.0 etc) which I did a couple of days ago. The link to the alternative PCSX2 keeps giving me a error 404. O.o

Yeah, I tried that since it's usually a fix for other programs/software

Guess I'm stuck with SSE2 then. Thanks for the help everyone, it's truly appreciated. =)

Now try the Alternative PCSX2 Link. It was a typing error and is fixed now.

PCSX2 Correct SVN

You need to have DirectX 11. Search for d3dx11_43.dll, d3dx10_43.dll and d3dx9_43.dll in your Windows/system32 or 64 Directory.

Just tried it, same result. Like I said, looks like I'm stuck with SSE2 since the Phenom II's have different instruction sets. DirectX 11 is baked into Windows 7 and so both of the system32 and SysWOW 64 directories contain those files.

Thanks for the help regardless. =)

no they aren't actually. those files are included with the June 2010 DirectX redistributable, meaning some other application installed them prior.
