After some upgrades, I wanted to post my results for any google-fu people looking for the same solution to a 1080p HTPC.
I upgraded two steps video card wise to figure it out (one was a card I had in another computer).
260 GTX - This card allowed full speed 1080p WITHOUT vsync
275 GTX - This is full-boar power with vsync on
So if anyone is looking for an nVidia card that can completely remove graphics as a slowdown (at 60fps) and full 1080p resolution- grab the 275GTX. I don't think there's a cheaper nVidia card that can pull it off.
To answer a question earlier in the topic about my other specs which I missed somehow, I run Vista 64 bit / 4 gigs ram / C2D E8500 @ 4.00ghz
