2 years later and still having fps problems
#1
For 2 years I've gotten every version and every beta, hoping they will run ANY game above 20 fps but it never works. I've tried all the speed hacks and every recommended setup. I've tried all the plugins. I EVEN GOT NEW HARDWARE. Still doesn't work.

It just irritates me when I see youtube videos of 60 fps God of War on a crappy laptop.

Here's my setup. Any help is appreciated.

AMD Athlon™ 7750 Dual-Core Processor, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz

3328MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS

Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp.080320-1628)

the emulator is very demanding, i can't get a constant 60FPS in FFX (get close) with all the speed hacks on and i have my processor clocked at 3.0ghz. i think it's 3.5 and pretty much most games have full playability. though you can get them to run decent with slower, you need a lot of hacks to do it.

You guys are being pretty harsh... Yes, that's not a completely top of the line system, but there is absolutely NO reason why it's only getting 20fps... Most games should get at least 40-50fps and many should be playable for many parts.

Exactly what games are you trying to play? Also... try upgrading to Vista or Windows 7 (which is still free till June of next year). DirectX10 will give a definite and very noticable speed boost.

Also i'm not sure if it still applies but try getting the AMD dual core optimizer app, make sure all kind of power saving features are off and try changing the power profile on windows's control panel to performance if available to you. Yes the CPU is still a little slow but should be able to get much more than 20fps unless there's something really wrong with your system.

Also check your temperatures. Make sure its somewhere around 60C. Make sure you have no other running processes sucking up your core speed (such as a anti virus software taking over 50mb of ram or so).

You can try ending some processes as well. Heck, over clock it (if its a desktop).

What internal resolution are you using? If you up the int. res. in PCSX2, that really gives your PC a lot of work.
CPU : Intel i7-2600K
GPU : nVidia Geforce GTX 970
OS : Windows 8.1 x64
RAM : 16GB Corsair Vengance DDR3
PCSX2 : Constantly changing.

My cpu is amd 7850 (7850 and 7750 are the same basically) and I can get most of my games at full speed with some speed hacks or no speed hacks. Do you have your cool'n'quiet on? Make sure you are using the latest beta build, and check your drivers, update your directx.

off topic:
Note that amd 7750 was released on December 15 2008, and its same as those Phenom(not Phenom II) cpu. It didn't exist 3/4 years ago.
