This is the last code that I posted, I will not make any more posts in the future. If someone wants my login details so that they can maintain the list send me a PM, or if no one wants that, perhaps moderators will update the list if new codes will be posted. Thank you

Great work, I wonder if these codes will be integrated in pcsx2 like it was done with the widescreen ones.

No, not in the forseeable future. These codes are more volatile and are less tested than the widescreen patches, and many run at double speed or are otherwise not finished, so that'll have to wait a few years.

Did you used here some kind of conversion or something. I'm trying to get this to work on ps2rd and PS2 Patch Engine and it just throws me an error

There is a possibility to have these for the pal version of the game ?

i was wondering if there is a way to get MGS 3 running at 20 FPS so that people with low end hardware can run the game at full speed.
(…or at least much closer to full speed)

normally MGS 3 runs at 30 FPS. although on real hardware the game fluctuates between 15 and 30 FPS. i'm not sure if that plays a role.

using Kabuto_Kun's original 60 FPS cheat:

gametitle=Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence Disc 1 (Limited Edition, SLUS-21359)
comment=Force 60 FPS
patch=1,EE,001D5AD8,extended,00000000
patch=1,EE,001D6DB8,extended,00000001
patch=1,EE,001D6DBC,extended,00000000

gametitle=Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence Disc 1 (Limited Edition, SLUS-21359)
comment=Force 30 FPS
patch=1,EE,001D5AD8,extended,00000040
patch=1,EE,001D6DB8,extended,00000002
patch=1,EE,001D6DBC,extended,00000001

http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Post-your...#pid444831

i made a few discoveries.

line 1 changes the speed of the camera.
00000000 - half speed (for 60 FPS)
00000040 - normal speed (for 30 FPS)
00000020 - double speed? (for 15?/20? FPS)
its hard to tell if the camera is moving twice as fast or only 67% faster but the camera definitely moves faster.

all other values seem to cause the camera to move at normal speed (values of 80, 160, etc)

i see the largest difference with line 2 in cutscenes. 1 is 60 FPS. 2 is 30 FPS. 3 is 20 FPS. and it doesn't stop there. 4 is 16.67? FPS. 5 is 12? FPS etc. until the game becomes such a slideshow who cares what it represents.

line 3 has something to do with gameplay speed. 0 is double speed for 60 FPS and every other value 1 to 99 is normal speed for 30 FPS. i only tested 1-25 and increments of 10 (10, 20, 30, 40,…,100). the game doesn't seem to recognize values above 00000099 and changes to double speed.

so, with that said, here is my current code:

gametitle=Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence Disc 1 (Limited Edition, SLUS-21359)
comment=Force 20 FPS
patch=1,EE,001D5AD8,extended,00000020 //gameplay camera speed
patch=1,EE,001D6DB8,extended,00000003 //cutscenes?
patch=1,EE,001D6DBC,extended,00000001 //gameplay speed

the only issue now is line 3, currently gameplay is only running at 67% game speed at 20 FPS. a value of 00000000 would make the gameplay 33% speed. i'm thinking there is a way to get gameplay at 100% speed for 20 FPS.

For Rayman M (PAL), you can set the FrameratePAL in PCSX2_vm.ini to any value and the game will run at that framerate with no speedups, sound errors or graphical glitches. I even tried it at 120fps and it worked fine (and yes, there were no duplicate frames). For Rayman Arena (the NTSC version of Rayman M) the same applies but with FramerateNTSC. Rayman Arena isn't perfect, however as for whatever reason the developers made the NTSC version drop every 2nd frame (this could maybe be fixed with an AR code?).

This also works fine with both the PAL and NTSC versions of Rayman 3 (which uses the same engine), with no codes needed for either version. Interestingly Rayman 3 seems to actually run better at 120fps, even on a 60fps monitor.

Are there more games this works with or is this just a very rare thing that these games can cope with.
