60fps on "2D" game
#1
Hi!  i hacve a small question

Im using latest pcsx2 1.4 on XP 32bits, my PC is a dual core 3ghz, intel GMA x4500, 2Gb ram, DX9 Software plugin

Im testing King of Fighters 94 rebout,  and get some slowdowns on menu and videos  35-45fps, but ingame i geta  solid 60fps

I believe that maybe is too much for my CPU,  then i open the task manager, and check CPU usage....

Ingame = 60fps - CPU usage  60-80%
Menu-Video = 35-45fps - CPU usage 55-75%

Any ideas why even if CPU usage is slight lower in menus and videos,  im still get slowdown?

Thanks

your GPu is probably the bottleneck here.
not much you can do, unfortunately.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

By "DX9 Software plugin" do you mean that you are using GSdx in DX9 software mode?
If yes...any reason why are you using software mode which makes the cpu requirements much higher

If you have a black screen on anything other than DX9SW(which is strange on that gpu),then try the GSdx from pcsx2 0.9.8

Im using software mode, is faster than hardware mode

In hardware DX9 mode:   menu and videos 60fps,  ingame 35-45fps
In Software DX9 mode:   menu and videos 35-45fps,  ingame 60fps

Laugh Laugh

If i can mix software and hardware will be perfect

But my question is,  why even is CPU is used at 60%-70% i get perfect 60fps ingame, and slow in menu and videos...

If i get less than 60fps i think must be because CPU is at 100% and is not enough... but with only 60% usage...

I tested SS2, SSE3, 4.1 GSdx,  pcsx2 from 0.9x to latest, diferent versions of GSdx...  more or less same

Because your GPU is the bottleneck
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

I see.
Since you know what the problem is, how it works, and how to solve it, no need to go on.
Problem solved, I guess
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go
