I know systemC, I'm a hardware engineer Tongue I won't qualify SystemC as a language, it is a C++ library that mostly add new type / concurrency / clock that map to hardware low level concept. Anyway, generally systemC isn't used to describe the hardware directly. The model is pure C/C++. SystemC (with/without TLM extension) is used as a wrapper to easily interconnect every parts.

A MIPS simulator based on the PS2 is a bad idea in my humble opinion. A simulator and a game emulator don't have the same requirement. For example we don't handle properly the TLB, which is useless (except for a single game) for PS2 but mandatory for any OS. Besides EE isn't a standard MIPS, sony add various extension.
