Great news for anyone that wants to upgrade his old amd cpu to a new fast cheap and latest technology one!!!

Seems Athlon II X4 640 @3.0Ghz (120$) worth to buy and can overclock around 3.8ghz-3.9ghz without headache.

and as far as i can see those will have very low temps cause of low TDP so a cheap-medium aftermarket cooler will do! (to oc i7 9xx intel 50-60 euro was the lowest u could spent on coolers) if anyone gets one i wanna hear how it overclocks Laugh

It should be exact same as some other Athlon II with a higher base multiper. Overclockability should also be the same, so it is not worth to buy imo. I would rather wait for the 32nm (or 28nm?) chip which is expected to be out next year. I hope they can come up with some better clock for clock design and keep the same socket and perhaps low TDP.

If you want to upgrade cpu especially new model, make sure your motherboad bios already support it.

Awesome,AMD Athlon II X4 Quad-core 630 2.8GHz is just for me,earlier i was thinking of getting Phenom butz i got time to think Tongue
