RE: AMD vs Intel
Before a few years ago, I was a Neutral Party, But recently amd has lost a lot of favor with me, Due to reasons I keep to myself... I also worked for Intel for a couple years and got to know the employees and Fan types... And truthfully, Intel works better for me and Most I know, So Definatly voting Intel....

RE: AMD vs Intel
I'm using the Dragon System (AMD II, 4870X2,4GB DDR2, 790FX), and it's very good, If it's the same money you paid for the system, I can sure AMD will Knock-out Intel. But I must agree that Intel is the best performance in the market (For very high gaming, like can play Crysis at 60fps,...).But also cost a too much money. So I still like AMD more.

RE: AMD vs Intel
I have AMD, but Intel is way better. You have so much more to choose from and there are alot of things that intel will help you out with on pcsx2.

System Specs:

AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ @ 2.20Ghz | 1 GB RAM | NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE 512MB | Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit

RE: AMD vs Intel
I had an AMD CPU X2 5000+. So, i decided bue and try C2D. I was surprised: C2D much much better then AMD Happy.
So i voted for:

RE: AMD vs Intel
I currently use AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ (the Black Edition one) and I wonder if a Core2Duo E8500 is faster.. They both are ~3.2GHz. Has anybody compared them?

RE: AMD vs Intel
I did use to be an AMD/ATI fanboi, back before dual-cores come out, AMD were definitely ahead. AMDs were better for gaming, Intels better for everything else. AMDs used to run cooler which made them better for overclocking too. And ATI just because, AMD and ATI go together. Tongue

But when the dual-cores starting coming out from Intel, and AMD didn't release any until like half a year later, Intel started pulling ahead, in half a years time they already had the basics for getting them working and being able to start improving them earlier than AMD could. Since then I think Intel have always had a slight lead.

Same with Nvidia vs ATI. SLI came out a year before CrossFire, Nvidia were able to start working much earlier on drivers and cards to get it better supported, and then again Nvidia started to pull ahead with better GPUs, and ATIs sales started to drop. While Nvidia are still making faster GPUs, ATI are pulling back more of the market with a lot lower prices than Nvidia.

RE: AMD vs Intel
There is simply no comparison. Intel wins hands down in terms of gaming or emulation performance. AMD is about 2 years behind in terms of technology.
