ATI 5770

Hello,

Could people who have this card comment on the performance of the PCSX2 using various modes ? DX10 / DX9.

Which games are playable, and more importantly, which are not? What FPS do you get?

Considering the Sapphire Vapor-X 5770 to replace my GF 7800 GT Wink

Sorry but I do not see how your reply is relevant to my question. Is that even a reply, or a question?

I do, but I need someone who has the CARD to test the CARD and REPLY with their findings of the performance and general observations about pros and cons. Smile

No need to test it, I can tell you beforehand it will handle any game you throw at it at good resolutions too.

The 5770 is one of the most 'efficient' cards on the market right now. It'll give you more bang per watt on average than anything short of the rather pricey 5890 series. In a land of over-powered GPUs that can single handedly shorten lifespans of PSUs and overheat entire computer cases, this is some nice news indeed. Performance wise it matches or exceeds the 4870 in benchmarks, but at nearly half the average wattage.

Performance comparison against nVidia puts it somewhere around GTX260 level, but typically cheaper and much less noisy (and again, uses way less power on avg).

PCSX2 has never been highly GPU dependent, so the 5770 is more than enough for it, and would be a nice upgrade from your current GPU considering you have an i7 to feed it geometry.
