I would like to add that unfortunately, your GPU driver has likely more CPU overhead than the direct competitor. It doesn't help you (the difference is smaller with Dx than openGL, but still)
SLI/Xfire aren't used by the emulator. And IMHO, multi GPU ought to have never existed. I really hope AMD will do as Nvidia and stop to provide this useless mess.
For the perf it depends on the game. Some effects are slow to emulate because it need to sync the GPU, so it will always lag even with good computer.
