Annoying glitches in FFX
#1
I've got FFX working almost perfectly, in most cases better than on the PS2. However in battle and very occasionally in normal dialogue the first couple of letters of the characters names keep disappearing so that instead of "Tidus" and "Wakka" it appears as "dus" or "kka". Also the help section at the top of the battle screen often disappears and pretty much all of the time it doesn't show how much damage I'm doing.

This is fixed by pressing F9 but obviously I take a significant graphics hit and its annoying having to do this every battle.

Finally underwater battles are very glitchy and character/enemy movements lag, especially when you fight the giant squid with Rikku after first meeting her.

I'm running:
Intel Duo E8400 3.00ghz
4.00gb ram
ATI radeon 4870

gsdx-sse4-r3878
Direct3D hardware with x3 scaling and 1280x1024 res
And I'm running games from ISO files not the discs.

use square internal res instead of 1280*1024

try 1024*1024
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Thats made it slightly better but its still there Sad

Is it a comprimise I'm going to have to make in favour of better graphics or can it be solved with the right settings?

Yeah it plays perfectly in native but I'm liking it in high res mode. As I said its not a major problem but it would be nice to be able to correct it.

I don't think scaling solves it, but I haven't checked that either. it's probably something's in the wrong spot graphically

No that makes things worse, it adds a very line flashing line around the top and left edges and makes battles slow down.

ok, well that was just a guessyou could try the alpha and skipdraw hacks, but I don't know what if anything it will accomplish
