Asus G73JH-A1
Its here. The only laptop that can supposedly play Crysis at full graphics (without SLI/CF).

Asus G73JH-A1
Intel® Core™ i7-720QM, 17-820QM, i7-920XM Extreme
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5870 1024MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11
8,192MB (8GB) DDR3 1066MHz/1333mhz

I WANT IT!! Smile

Windows 7 - Asus G73jh-a1 - 17-720qm @ 1.6 GHz (2.8 GHz)(2.4ghz)(1.73ghz) - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 @ 700/1000 (sometimes oc to 800/1100) - 8 gig ram

YAY! You can play a badly coded 5 year old game in a just released laptop!
................
I wish people will stop using Crysis as a benchmark since it proves nothing about anything (except how badly it was coded apparently)
I'd never give $1,600 for a laptop, I'd just buy a great desktop for half the price or a decent laptop for half the price again Tongue

Ah see, I didn't know that. So its just bad coding. EDIT: and the fact that its one of the most stunning looking games on the pc. Either way, its not like they will make an update for the game so we have to deal with it. So y not compare benchmarks?

As for me, I'm just a laptop fan. I'll take this and it should have a 2 hour or linger battery life depending on what processor u get.

RE: Asus G73JH-A1
I don't have a problem with using Crysis as a benchmark, but I very much have a problem with trying to extrapolate performance for other games from it.
I've seen far too many reviews/sites of the form "It can run Crysis, so that means it can run anything!", and I think that's what Bositmon is really getting at. If you want to play Crysis then it's actually useful, but not much else can be gained from knowing that.

The best benchmarks are of games you actually play that use the same/similar engine. Benchmarks of Source engine games are incredibly useful to me because I play a ton of TF2 and L4D2, but at the same time I wouldn't depend on good performance in either of those to indicate good performance in another game engine.

Indeed that was my point. I don't think anyone still plays Crysis anyway so why everyone keeps talking about if X PC can run Crysis is beyond me...

Somehow i seriously doubt the 2 hour battery life xD, more like 30 minutes if under Load.

Check my profile for System Specs (Updated).

From what I heard, dell's m15 with the 17-720qm last about 1 hour and 44 minutes from a test I've seen. sry, I don't remember where it was. Since this isn't very reliable info, I'll stop here.

But the video card it has only takes "50 watts compared to nvidias gtx 280 card 75 watts." So yea, expect a good amount of battery life.

EDIT: as far as crysis goes, it just depends on the individual. One who likes crysis will want to make sure it can be played at full.

Conveniently doesn't show the battery life while heavy gaming, but if it's 100 min for DVD playing, it should be like 30 mins for gaming Tongue
