Also un-check the "Allow 8-bit Textures" box because as I remember it, that caused all the Wave type attacks to look blocky (even the ki blasts looked like blocks of white ahd yellow)......

Yeah! I had the Same problem. But it seems to occur in DirectX 10 mode Only. DirectX 9 with allow 8-bit Texture has no graphical error caused by this.

the game uses 8bit with alpha for the ki attacks which looks fine when rendered to 32bit, but the 8bit shader breaks alpha for some reason.
