though I don't know the hack's meaning, but it does work. no continuous crash occured.
but I don't what's mean leading to a dead end? do you mean the hack can't be used?

I used to play Fatal Frame 1 ON PAL by PG ,there is noting wrong ,i play start to end.
we can not play Fatal Frame 2 3 ON PG so far
By the way,you must skip the CG,the CG cause miss out very easy

Never tried the PAL version. I don't have it.

Yes, the VIF related hacks were working, but by using them it caused the game to crash later on. So it was a dead end. Hence Rama reverted it back to normal on R.681. Which means that on R.681 and ahead there isn't VIF hacks working anymore on Fatal Frame. Maybe the mixed screen problems might have returned because of this.

But I test it last night for a hour no crash occured.
and what's mean of the mixed screen problem? is it the white point around the ghost?

You need to understand that Fatal Frame 1 is already fully playable as it is now. You can play til the end.
What I mean by mixed screen problem is a problem that happens when DMA trans errors are trigerred.. The screen gets like this when you take photos: (Tested on latest SVN R.690, the error is back, obviously)

But when I take photos no mixed screen problem..I used r681, same as 690 (690 only change code structure). Though the graphic has some problem indeed when take photos.

This problem only happens when taking Photos. You're playing on Pal or NTSC version, by the way ?

USA version not jap version,should be NTSC version, 60 fps at full speed.

USA version=NTSC(SLUS,SCUS) Europe(SLES,SCES) and Asia(Something Else) versions=PAL Smile
