Best Graphical Settings for ICO? Looks a Little Washed Out ...
#11
I understand what you are saying, but 1080p is not random--more like an industry standard.

I think this issue with ICO--which I haven't run into with any other game so far--might be due to the fact that the game is a weird resolution to begin with: 512x224(?)

Maybe that res just doesn't scale well, unless doubled or tripled the way PCSX2 does it ....

By the way ... what a great game! I can see what all the acclaim was about.

No, but industry standard in terms of HD TVs, monitors, etc, and thus in terms of what consumers would be looking to upscale to. My point was that it isn't just some random resolution.

As far as the PS2 (and hence PCSX2) is concerned, 1080p is a random and unfamiliar resolution.

Okay, I give in. I will concede the point.

Yes, I primarily use 3x scaling now, not 1080p.

(I use Fraps to take screenshots, it's just outputted to 1080p since it's my max HDTV resolution).

And Ico came out in 2001 and was released less than 640 x 480 interlaced resolution, in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
1920x1080 16:9 progressive scan was way too advanced back then (game looks amazing with our widescreen hack).
Just wait until you get to upscale all your PS2 games in 4K with PCSX2.
