Better quality?

Hello! I'm running MGS3 smoothly but the graphics are really bothering me. I'm not sure how to do this so I ask more experienced people. How to get the best quality out of it?
I'm running pcsx2 0.9.9.4980svn. I'm using gsdx4979 sse2(because of processor) and the other plugins are on their default settings.
My drivers, directx, etc are fully updated.
I haven't had any trouble in playing Batman AC on it's highest settings so this sould not be too much of a problem. Thanx in advance.
PC:
Amd phenomII965x4 @3.8
GTX460 1gb edition from MSI
4gb of ram
Win7 Ultimate sp1.

keep in mind that batman Arkham city is really less demanding than MGS3 under pcsx2. so that's not a good example.
You could increase gsdx internal res to get better gfx, but it'll slowdown you game, for sure.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Already done that. Still runs smoothly still looks crappy.
Oh and btw I am using the MTVU hack.

of course I am... you didn't care to read the FAQ, i guess...

try using scaling instead of increasing internal res. That could help.

He gave you another suggestion, please treat Jesalvein with a bit more respect, he knows far more about this than you do, so please treat him that way.

He gave you a suggestion, you could at least try that instead of ignoring him.

you can't compare a PC game with an emulator.
Emulators are heavy CPU dependent. Most PC games aren't.

Main Rig: i7-3770k @4.5ghz | 16GB DDR3 | Nvidia GTX 980 TI | Win 10 X64
Laptop: MSI GT62VR | i7-6700HQ | 16GB DDR4 | Nvidia GTX 1060 | Win 10 X64

I second Refractions statement.

Anyway, The Emulator is far far far far more demanding then any PC game that is currently out. Granted i have not played MGS3 on the emu, But it is one of the more demanding ones. Your graphics card should be able to handle at least 2x scaling (i do 3/4 on all my games with a 560 ti)

But your slow downs are coming from your CPU, i have the same one. same speed (pissed i can't get to 4ghz) and i get slowdowns from time to time on some of the more demanding games. I suggest buying MOSFET coolers for your Mobo and trying to get a larger OC (unless it's temps holding your back, then a better cooler)
Intel Core i7-8700k @5ghz
G.Skill 16GB DDR4 @3600mhz
GeForce GTX 1080 8GB
Windows 10 x64

It depends on the game.
Final Fantasy X or even God of War 2 for example works better than Skyrim on my Computer Tongue2
But Shadow of the colossos definitely not x_x
