Black screen error when using 'Plugin'
#1
Im trying to import data from one version of a game called samurai warriors to an expansion called 'xtreme legends' and its basically a dlc.
I found a thread which says to make an iso from the actual discs using imgburn which i have (basically an iso which is a combination of both game files).
It then says to mount the iso to a virtual drive and select plugin under cdvd and choose the mounted iso drive.
Then when i try run everyone's appears to load but i get a black screen and an error, and this error happens with any normal iso/game.

This is the error:

The guide is probably older that the time when pcsx2 got build in iso loader.
Try using CDVD=>ISo and select the iso(unmount it first)

And about those "TLB Miss" one reason could be because of the CDVD plugin Gigahertz. On some older version,I can't run almost any game from the disk or mounter image while using Gigahertz but there was some update on it and the problem is probably fixed(if you use the latest beta)

Right, thankyou for the help. I switched from gigahertz to another plugin and i dont get the error. Also loading it as an iso doesnt give me the error.

Thing is the combined iso runs and the game is detected but i only get a black screen with no sound

Ok i dont think the guide is old according to this thread http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Dynasty-S...p-solution

Someone recently claims to have made it work running it only by running it as a plugin, because running it as internal iso doesnt work. They are also using Gigahertz.

Jepp, that was me. Black screen when loading the iso in pcsx, but fine working when mounting the iso to virtual drive, and running that as plugin with Gigaherz

Yes. I think my ISO is fine because it has the exact same files as yours do and i get the black screen when loading iso with internal iso reader, only problem is when i try to run mounted iso as a plugin because i get that error as shown above.

If anyone can help me with this error, please do so.

Ok i found the problem and im an idiot xD

I mounted the iso using PowerIso but it looks like i should have done uisng Daemontools which did the trick for me Smile

The game now runs but only the screen which shows the 'select saved data' appears and clicking anything makes the screen turn black for some wierd reason.

This could be an issue with my iso but im not sure because the console looks fine.

Quick thing I saw that might or might not be something: You said you have the PAL game too, but the log there says it is loading NTSC bios from USA? No idea if that is escape plan loading, or in the settings. Seems like otherwise a lot would fail in other play matters if that were true.

Did i say PAL? i dont know why i said that, sorry about that. I have the NTSC version for both Samurai warriors 1 and XL. And yes my bios is from USA - version 2.00

I dont think The bios matters if the game is a different version e.g. i have a game called 'King of fighters Maximum Impact' which is PAL but still runs on my NTSC bios.
Basically i live in the UK, and i got my ps2 ages ago from my cousin who lives in New Jersey for Christmas.

I wanted to say something:

When extracting the ripped iso, if i open it with winZip, i get linkdata.cns to have 0 Kb but with WinRar its 2gb+.
I extracted mine using winZip so ill try winrar.
What did you use?

EDIT: I will continue this on the other forum.
