Black screen with sound in ANY game with newer GSDX
#1
I've encountered this problem on one of my systems when the latest version of PCSX2 (0.9.7 beta 1474). The ZeroGS plugin doesn't work at all on this machine (I think it never did), and keeps crashing it. An old version of GSDX (846, SSE41) works, but the newer versions that come with 0.9.6 and later just don't. DirectX 10 causes the emulator to crash and DirectX 9 launches the game with sound and all, but shows a black screen with no graphics.

This is my emulog.txt with GSDX 1479-SSE41:

My specs are:
E8400 @ 3.0Ghz, 2GB RAM, Intel GMA 3100

It might be the GMA 3100, since it worked (a bit slow but worked) on another system with a GeForce 7300.

Integrated video cards will have issues with something as demanding as PCSX2. While it may work with some tweaking, it will be painfully slow. You're likely to have much better results with a more powerful card. The newer GSDX versions use DirectX 9/10/11(experimental) which GMA doesn't support. but it does seems to support DirectX 9, though. As for the black screen, try upgrading the video drivers from Intel's website.
