Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (Slow Performance)
#1
Hi Guys,

I'm not getting the best performance using the PCSX2 Wineskin port, I downloaded it from Youtube as I couldn't get the official port working on El Capitan. The wineskin port works fine but performance isn't that great, I get 25-30FPS on Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and I'm doubtful that it's my system.

Specifications
2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (8 Core)
16GB 800MHz DDR2-FB-DIMM
AMD Radeon HD 7950 3072MB
2TB Seagate Barracuda (Raid 0)
OSX El Capitan 10.11.2

I'm using SDL 1.3 Software mode, wasn't able to use Direct3D9 because it displays a black screen. Any tips? Not sure if it's the system, but I'm able to run other emulators and play high end games at highest settings without issue (GTA V, BF4 etc..) Maybe it's a Mac OSX thing?

Appreciate the help!

Running the emulator directly in Windows via boot camp may get you some extra speed. Having 2 CPUs is nice but PCSX2 will only use 3 cores at most in hardware mode. You would see better performance on a quad core that runs at higher speeds. Try enabling the recommended speedhacks and enable MTVU. Otherwise I think your limited by the slow per core speeds of your CPUs.
