Soul Calibur 3 needs an extremely fast PC to work well. My system with a Core 2 Duo E8400 at 3,6 Ghz and GF 9800GTX gets like 40 fps at best.

Perhaps you could change the thread title for it to no longer be misleading.

@Runeangel: Anyway, you need DX10 to be able to play at all. With rev1190 (rev1329 won't work with SC3) and speed hacks, I get 25-40 FPS at native resolution. And even then, you'll be running into issues: choosing Raphael makes the game slow down to a crawl, and certain levels are very buggy — I'm talking about the entire screen flickering here.

Other thoughts:
- Windows 7 is around the corner; I know I'm buying it as soon at it's released to get DX10 (and DX11 later on when I buy a new graphics card);
- You need a better CPU to get better performance under PCSX2, but I can't really tell you what CPU to choose unless you tell us your motherboard's brand and model names;
- You need a better graphics card if you wanna play at a higher internal resolution (I know 1200x1200 doesn't display vertical stripes, by the way).

you need alot more PC power GPU and CPU wise, even then, the game won't be as good as most other gaems playable on the PC, I'd say wait it out a few months then upgrade,

Maybe he wants to play a fighting game, and since those have been quite absent on the PC until very recently... But yes, he'd better wait until Christmas if he wants to upgrade.

Well, Sorry about the miss-post =X first time posting =X
My Mother board is MSI ~ MS-7250, NVDIA nForce 570 Ultra Chipset
So this S.C 3 Basiclly needs more so called "Juice" to run it then? Damned X_X and yah i'm looking for games like soul calibur nowdays used to like S.C 2 too, but don't own a Xbox.

Fighting games using chars and can buy upgrades, custom Costumes, and i have no idea S.C 3 can create custom characters which is "Wow We~" quite a surprized to me too.

I don't know if SC4 is the same way, but my brother's computer can play it full speed PAL version at all times.

his specs are

E8600 3.33GHZ @ 4.44Ghz
2Gigs Ram
Ati Radeon 4870 512MB

Now I'm not sure which components help the most in this game (CPU or GPU), I'm getting a GTX 260 today with my E6750 2.66 @ 3.6Ghz processor. Right now the game is 10fps and stuff with my 8800GTS. So 'ill report back.

Ok, but there is no problem in hardware - check you os, drivers
my pc is: pentium e2140 1.60ghz runs at @3.20ghz 2gb of ram hd3850 512mb - Soul Calibur 3 PAL50 runs at 70-80fps ingame (of cause, i use x2 cycle rate enabling iop x2 status flag hack checked and vu stealing to full speed) CPU microVU checked speed normal (0) and i use ZeroSPU2 with gsdx 1426m 0.1.15 - d3d int res 1020x1020 without native Direct x9 - ingame to disable flickering or ghosting choose options and change values.
