RE: CPU upgrade
Run in software mode and set SW render threads to 6, and you should run things pretty quick on your 8 core as well as having more accurate emulation(less bugs).

RE: CPU upgrade
That's what AA is for! And while I only got as far as into the menu in SSX 3 with 4 threads I didn't notice any indications that the image was "erkish" to me. That was with AA enabled. PCSX2 crashed before I got into the game itself however Tongue

RE: CPU upgrade
However, GSDX D3D Software not good at 3D Games. well it's worked best for 2D Games already regardless of speed. Can overclock Dual-core reaching the same goal more-cores sw threads done somehow.

My PC is a dedicated PS2 Gaming machine, I would like persist on E8600 3.33Ghz, cuz I won't overclock much during my lifespan.

RE: CPU upgrade
Depending on the frequenzy of the CPU, seeing as a quad core @ 3GHz with 4x sw threads will always perform better than a dual core @ 3GHz and 2x sw threads. So to gain enough speed on dual core you'll have to at least OC it so it's quite a bit faster than the quad core counterpart.

However with a strong graphic card and sticking with only the playable games you can enjoy the games so much more. Especially if you set a custom resolution higher than that ugly native.

most of PS2 games have low resolution approaches 640 by 480, lead me using CRT with 640 by 480 to match and play. For sure for most of 2D games, no fuzzy magnified image comes out.

Both higher resolution and internal res of GSDX worked together for producing awesome PS2 3D Games image.

Is someone still using CRT in this day and age? Blink
