Can't get any games to play
#1
First off here's my pc

Intel e5300 dual core 2.6 Ghz overclocked to 3.2 Ghz
MSI G31M3-F V2 motherboard
4 gb DDR2 OCZ Gold
EVGA Geforce GT 240 also overclocked

When i go to load a game not one in particular just any game it seems to start loading fine then slows way down to about 2 fps and stays that way till i shut it off. I have let it set many time to see if it will speed back up and it never happens.

What is wrong and how do i fix it?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I think your GPU is the weak link...
AMD Phenom II X4 975 BE OC 4.0 GHz, Corsair Hydro H70
AMD Radeon HD 6990 OC, Accelero Twin Turbo
ASUS Crosshair V Formula 990FX
OCZ Revodrive 3 X2 240 Gb
16 Gb G.Skill 1833 MHz

Yeah, well, PCSX2 is mostly CPU demanding but the GPU also have something to say Smile.
Have you tried speedhacks and all that ?

i doubt that would be the problem, a gt240 should handle pcsx2 on native settings and not 2fps
same with the E5300 @ 3.2ghz

@op:

1 what games are you trying to play
2 could you post settings you use and what version you use of pcsx2

Racing games are rather demanding and your cpu wont be up to the task.
Forget about NFSU 2, this game is slow even on my rig in software mode.
And it's even worse in hardware mode.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

and the settings of pcsx2? (gs settings, speedhacks setting etc)
and need for speed underground 2 is a no go, that is on ''in-game'' on the compatibility list, those 3 games arent that great on the emu either, very demanding games and there is your main problem really.

i suggest you play them on the ps2 instead, i doubt it will be decently playable anytime soon on a E5300 duo core im afraid.

Edit: ninja'ed by jesalvein>.<

and @ ps2freak, a gt 240 is pretty much a minimum of pcsx2 games (its better then a gt8600 and that is suposedly the bare minimum for pc specs)
so playing on native should be fine but then again, you are better off playing on your ps2 instead then xD
