Can't select my HD8790m as default adapter
#1
laptop with integrated video card HD4600 and main video card HD8790m
latest VC++ 2008/2010/2013 Redist Packages installed
DX11 installed

ISO: FF-XII US
BIOS: SCPH-90001_USA

use GSdx 0.1.16
when chose Direct3D11, crashed saying 'stopped working'
when chose Direct3D9, frame counter is running while nothing but black screen

My plugin settings:

Gsdx settings:[/color]

Here's log when I set it to Direct3D9 in Gsdx configuration.
Since it shows black screen only, then I shut it down as you see at the end of the log.

Decommitting host memory for virtual systems...

Additional question:
The log only shows the HD4600 video card which I definitely don't want to run the emulator with.
In AMD video config, I set it to use 'high performance' mode with the 'pcsx2.exe'.
Do I need to do other configurations to make sure it will use the HD 8790m when running the emulator?

Thanks

Sadly not working even using V1.2.1 (r5875)
This time, when use Direct3d11, still crash for 'stopped working'
When use D3d9, popup run time related error as below:

What concerned me is that in the log, the GS was initiated with the integrated HD4600.
Would that cause problem even if the OS system will hot swap to use the HD8790m?

You will have select a different adapter from the GSdx settings then. Although as far as i know, after it's configured the first time that setting is hidden afterwards, so you may need to remove the GSdx settings ini.

i'm not sure if missed anything in the AMD video setting interface, but inthe GS plugin config, i can only see three choices in the 'video adapter' drop box.
They are the HD4600, the prefered adapter and the default adapter.
is that where i need to mend the GS ini file for?

sorry.
I though pcsx2 was crashing. just like what you wrote in your thread's title. I edited it to fit your needs.
Tried making a profile for pcsx2 using CCC ?

the solution is really easy, if you get black screen while choosing dx9 then try, using dx9 in software mode this problem comes for some integrated intel chips like g31,g41 etc.
and, moderators please read this spoiler.
jes, why did you delete my previous post
