Champions of Norrath keeps crashing?

Hey guys, I'm a new user here. I've been having a problem with the emulator and need some help.

I've been playing Champions of Norrath: Realms of Everquest in local multiplayer mode with my brother for about a week now with no issues other than some lag. (The lag gets pretty bad sometimes, but it's still playable and is not nearly as bad as this issue.)

However during act IV, after defeating the Arena Beast, the game crashes during the loading screen when we try to go back to the City of Khathuun. We've replayed the arena 5 times now in hopes that it was just random, but it happens every single time, and the only save point is right before the arena. There are also no teleporters in the city so we can't use a Gate Scroll to go back. We noticed that this crash would sometimes happen whenever exiting one of the caves to go back into the same city, but it wasn't always consistent. After digging online for a while we've been unable to find a solution.

Here are the specs of my computer:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K CPU 3.50GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 390 Series
RAM: 16.0 GB
OS: Windows 7 Professional

PCSX2 1.4.0

The only non default setting I believe I have is software mode. This is because Champions of Norrath would have a half screen bug when run in hardware mode.
I'm running the game from an ISO.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

We tried starting the game again but this time the last save wouldn't even load. The game doesn't crash like before but it freezes on the loading screen.

Using a BIOS file with PCSX2 which you have downloaded from the internet or from a PS2 console you do not own is illegal. You must own the console the BIOS file came from (even if it's broken) to be legal.
