See first of all get the codes you need to convert such as Action Replay MAX. Only converted codes can be used (also, in a proper format)

Heres the full guide:

1) Get the codes (Here I will be using Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3). Just Google them. Tongue2

Infinite Health :

Code:
29C4-T0RF-60Y7V
F05J-5AWB-6HT16
Q53B-31FZ-T2ZF0
ZR9D-UA3K-T4U98
GKJP-2W9X-27G6R
Q8TY-89EH-57ZK2
5QM7-AU6K-6U1GR

2) Convert it using Omni-Convert

Set the Input as Action Replay --> MAX

And the Output as Unencrypted --> Standard

And paste the code and convert it

The converted code should look like this

Code:
200FFF08 8C410004
200FFF0C AC410000
200FFF4C 08082E36
200FFF50 8C420000
2020B8D4 0803FFC0
200FFF00 14160008

3)Now download, PCSX2 CE

Now Open PCSX2 CE (needs Java)

And paste the converted codes , enter the CRC of the Game (it can be found in PCSX2 Log) and the game name. and save it under Cheats/ Folder in PCSX2.

Code:
patch=1,EE,200FFF08,extended,8C410004
patch=1,EE,200FFF0C,extended,AC410000
patch=1,EE,200FFF4C,extended,08082E36
patch=1,EE,200FFF50,extended,8C420000
patch=1,EE,2020B8D4,extended,0803FFC0
patch=1,EE,200FFF00,extended,14160008

4) Open PCSX2 and enable cheats and happy cheating. Smile

Note: Gameshark Codes can be Directly Used

Hope you found it useful Smile

What if code I want is already in AR Max format? Would it still need to be converted?

You didn't get it;P, the codes(if you get them from the net) must be converted from ANY format they're into RAW/unencrypted soo having ARMAX codes you can use omniconverter to convert them to raw which must be done before they can be used in pnach files, which are quick and easily created by pcsx2ce. You got both programs linked above, it's all pretty automatical, takes just a few copy+paste and if you really could fail at that, you can probably find the codes already(or request them) in here. Just make note, games were released in different versions, you always need to have codes for your version of the game or they'll simply not work;P.

I am new to using PS2 emulation so please understand. Anyway, once I convert cheats, does emulator save them or do I have to convert/add every time I use it?

I copied the CRC code for game from PCSX log, tried to save cheats through CE and it said invalid CRC code... Did I do something wrong?

You probably used all including 0x and thats basically just a prefix to show that the number is in hexadecimal format. Copy the CRC number without 0x and it'll work. If you save the pnach file using pcsx2ce to correct subfolder, pcsx2 will see it all the time and the codes assuming they're corect, will work always whenever you run the game with "Enable cheats" option.

See friends, ARMAX and other codes need to be converted before using. I converted the ARMAX codes into Raw and then made it running.

The CRC of the game starts with 0x[CRC]

Remove the 0x and save that pcsx2ce. and then open pcsx2 --> Enable Cheats and run the game.

The Cheats must of same region or it won't work. Smile

I know the output has to be unencrypted/raw, but can I use multiple cheat devices (AR, Codebreaker, Gameshark) for input?
