Config Help
#1
i haven't tried running this specific emulator since i've upgraded my computer about a month ago. since i can run the GC emulator practically perfectly, with the exception of slight audio problems, and i'd like to reconfigure the pcsx 2 for my new computer.

Important System Specs:
GA-970A-D3
FX-6100 @ 3.4Ghz
8GB DDR3 Crosair vengence @ 1600Mhz
640GB 7200RPM HDD
MSI RS6670 1GB @ 800Mhz(core)/1000Mhz(Memory shader)

P.S. (off topic) anyone knows where i can get a simple overclocking guide for cpu and gpu.
Thanks in advance

Have you read through the Configuration Guide?
... or is there some question in particular you have?

P.S. Isn't the multiplier unlocked on that processor...?

well thats what the box says for my processor but i've never tried to over clock it on the account i may fry it.

youll need aftermarket cooler to get any decent overclocking results, download HWmonitor program (just google it) to monitor temps and prime95 to test overclocking stability, keep your cpu under 60C while running prime95
Mobo: EVGA X58 SLI LE
CPU: Intel i7 920 C0 @ 4.2 Ghz 1.36v Cogage Arrow
Ram: 3x2GB OCZ Gold 1690 9-9-8-24 1.65v
GPU: MSI GTX580 Lightning @ 970/2200 1.09v+MSI GTX460 Hawk PhysX
HDD: Corsair Force GT 120, 2x F4 320GB Raid 0,F4 2TB, WD-G 1TB
PSU: Corsair HX850 80 PLUS SILVER Modular
Case: Antec 1200 EVGA Mod

well for this cpu i've seen that people have overclocked it up to 4.8Ghz but thats probably with a high end liquid cooling system.
i have 4 120mm fans (1xfront-in 2xtop-out 1xback-out) and the stock heatsink and the highest temp i get is about 34C except when i have my computer on for a long time it gets up to 45C.

I'm pretty sure those processors can handle like 4.0Ghz on air.
And I think that was even with all modules enabled, too.

you are wrong because the temps you say you get are not full load temps, like i said run prime95 for at least 10min and check you temps then, plus when you overclock and increase core voltage temps drastically increase, and with good air cooling this cpu can do 4.5Ghz-4.8Ghz depends on a chip.

You can overclock by increasing FSB speed on your BIOS. Then after this rise a little more Core Voltage because it will make your CPU OC stable.

After Overclocking from 3.4GHz to ex. 3.8GHz do a "Stress Test" for your CPU to check if it's stable or not. Also monitor your Temperature by using a program such as Real Temp.

Hope this hepled.

WARNING: Don't increase Core Voltage too mutch or you'll fry your CPU! As high as you OC as high as your Temps will be!

well i just finished the stess test on prime95.
i did it while i was at school for like 8hrs and it said it was fine.
i set it to 4.03Ghz and temps are topping at 32.9C and the voltage is on auto because i don't want to mess up my cpu.
now how do i overclock my GPU. do i use msi afterburner?

It's a Radeon right?!? just download AMD Overdrive or use the one that's already in the AMD Vision Center from the drivers you have installed.
