Configure plugins to play MGS3
#1
hey !

I saw today PCSX2 was now 0.9.6

Here's my pc :

Q9300 @ 2.75 ghz
GTS250 O/C
3 GB Ram
1280x1024@75hz
And i don't think the rest really matters

Now, the game is slow, and the sound is weird, why is that so ?
Is it better to play with DX10 ?

Thanks !

Your processor is weak, so why shouldn't it be slow? It works more or less normal at 3.5+GHz. Some people reported it running perfectly on Core i7 OCed to 4GHz+

Some games get better speed with GSdx dx10 mode.
Enable the NATIVE option in GSdx and see.
If the fps of the game is slow the sound will also lag aka weird.

I think his specs is good enough, he have quadcore cpu at.2.75ghz penryn class and he have Nvidia GF250=9800GTX class, maybe doing something wrong about plugins and setting in pcsx2. @geecko : btw what is game do you playing and give our an info about pcsx2, plugins and setting you are using?
edit = i dont see you are playing MGS3 game, for this game, your cpu at least at 3.6Ghz to play in decent speed, try with software mode (SW3/SW4) in latest gsdx plugin (gsdx.0.1.14) if that can give you better result in fps.

His computer isn`t good enough - even with C2D 3,5 GHz it`s still unplayable (and since PCSX uses only 2 cores, his CPU is like C2D .. he can use GSDX in software mode to take advantage of all cores, but it`s still only 2,75 GHz).

@geecko : at least you can try with old gsdx plugin like gsdx.0.1.6 and gsd.0.1.7 and play that game in OS Vista (directx.10 mode, recomanded for your gpu), try too with gigahertzcdvd (WIP4) plugin in specific game, this plugin can give you more or bit fps.

No, his processor specifically is not good enough.

Hey hey ^^

Please don't say my computer is "weak" or something, because it's running crysis High @ 40 fps, wich is pretty good

I'll try with no sound, and i'll tell you (i can read subtitles ^^)
