New problem now. I'm trying to run the game at 1680x1050, but once the game boots up it goes back to the native res. The native res box is unchecked but its still doing it. All the plugins are the same as before.

Yeah it goes full screen but it's still in low res. Definitely not 1680x1050

yes, pcsx2 is not meant to stretch and resize the textures and models of a PS2 disc

Then how come thats an option in d3d and the guide says that games can be run in a much higher res?

are you talking about the window, or you really cant tell a difference of the textures in the game?
try taking a screen shot of the high resolution, then another one of the native. trust me, on most games you can tell a difference.
all it will do is make the jagged edges look smoother.
