Devil Kings - unfixable graphic glitch?
#1
I tried out Devil Kings (PAL) today and on some of the levels I had the graphic bug that can be seen on these screenshots.

What's with this strange ghost effect?

It's not caused by speedhacks and I've tried many things such as enabling alpha hack, but nothing seems to help, not even native resolution. In software mode it's more or less okay though. I'm using PCSX2 0.9.8. with the default plugins.

Is there anyone here who managed to play Devil Kings without this glitch or should I give up on fixing it and play the game on my PS2?

Have you tried using hardware mode, that may make a difference for better or worse.

CPU - i7 2600s
RAM - 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz
GPU - AMD 6570
OS - Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Of course, why would I want to play a game in software mode that is much slower and uglier? : ) I also took the screenshots in hardware mode, this is how the game looks with my default settings (GSdx SSE2 r4600 video plugin, Direct3D11 hardware renderer, 3x native scaling).

8bit textures is a performance setting, not a quality setting.

Okay, I managed to fix the game. Laugh
I had to go back to an old GSdx plugin (I picked GSdx SVN r1076, the game gets broken somewhere around r1145) and voila, no more weird ghost effect! I don't know why it is always the last thing I can think of as a solution.

Thanks for all the answers and ideas. Smile
