I thought 2GB of RAM was the requirement for Windows 7, just so you know.

IMHO, some games run faster with old hardware on Windows XP. And I noticed that his CPU clock speed is 3Ghz+, so that might helped.

i would advise to go atleast 2gb of ram if you would to upgrade to windows 7, but i doubt it will be cheap because you are probably using ddr2 and that is really expensive these days

here in the philippines the 2GB Ram is cost 1750php and it's quite expensive than ddr3 which is I think 750php
