Different ISO, same game. Can I have my save files?

Hi there,
I downloaded recently and started using this wonderful emulator, running EUROPE 2.00 PS2 Bios. I started playing FFXII for some hours, with a english version of the iso. Now I found an italian version of the same game, downloaded it, and tryed to play it. Even though the game works fine, I am not able neither to browse my memcard to use my old save file, nor to (obvously) load an older state (it opens the session with the english iso).
Any chance to continue my story mode with the italian iso, or I must start from the beginning?
