Does Anisotropic Filtering work in the emu?

I can confirm that.
It was working in FFX too and smoothed textures in the distance.
I don't know why it's not working anymore. Maybe changes on log Z ?

Okay, I checked it with the original PCSX2 0.9.6. I'm pretty sure it did work at that time with that version, but now it doesn't.
That should make clear where the "problem" lies: Nvidia deactivated it in their drivers/newer graphics cards.

What'd be interesting is if it worked or still works on AMD cards.

nvidia didn't deactive jack. the problem manifested in changes to how GSDX handles Z values.

If it were so it'd still work with old versions of PCSX2/GSDX. It does not with GSdx 890, which was packaged with PCSX2 0.9.6 in the beginning of 2009. That should be old enough.

The Z values can be changed, so it might work again then.
But I haven't tried it yet.

Which was released after you took those pics.

I think it's the same as those that say stereotopic 3d worked with older versions Tongue2

Possible.
However I just tried it with GSdx 0.1.0 which apparently dates at 12.13.07. Still the same.

Of course one could only be 100% sure with the exact same version of GSdx.
But according to my memory and the tests I made so far, I'd say the chance of GSdx not being involved is over 90%.

I might have an error in reasoning of course, won't deny that.
But just saying "I think you're wrong" doesn't help. Arguments please. Smile

Of course I could also do more testing. Just make suggestions.
