Dual video cards & pcsx2?
#1
Was just wondering as i have dual gtx 570s.Will Pcsx2 and the games stated below still work or is there something i have to change in the settings?.The games im hopefully going to play are

Grand theft auto 3
Grand theft auto liberty city stories
Grand theft auto vice city stories
Spartan: total warrior.

If someone could tell me how well these games would perform on pcsx2 0.9.8 & with my rig. That would be rather appreciated. As im away for 2-3 days so i can not test it out myself. And was curious about having dual video cards and playing on pcsx2.

PC SPECS:
CPU: Intel® Core™i7-2600k (OC) @ 4.80GHz
MOBO: ASUS® maximus IV extreme-z Z68 rog.
RAM: 16GB kingston hyper-x genesis dual-ddr3
GPU: Dual nvidia geforce GTX 570's in SLI.

Many thanks

unfortunately, SLI & crossfire aren't handled by pcsx2.
that said, your specs a very good for pcsx2 and you should be able to play those games without major problems (at least GTA series since I don't know that spartan-guy-in-skirt thing Tongue2)
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

So whats the alternative solution?

I will not be able to run pcsx2 with dual cards?

If it won't run, then disable SLI and try again.

Sad to hear this about pcsx2.When i get back i will hopefully see if pcsx2 runs those games with my sli.If not then i will be forced to use a single gtx 570.It is still a very powerful card on it's own.And should no doubt run those gta series with no lag ect.But as always having an extra card in sli or crossfire. Will always run much more smoother in everything not just pcsx2.

Hopefully in the near future the pcsx2 team allow dual video cards or even triple. And use of a full quad core!.

It should work fine with your SLI setup, it will just not utilize at all the second card, which you shouldn't bother about since the GTX 570 should kill anything you throw at it Tongue

Just to clarify: you do understand that you do not have to remove your second video card? "Disable SLI" is just a software setting, takes a few seconds to tick on, a few seconds to tick off. I think you can even do application profiles that will cause your video driver to automagically turn off SLI when pcsx2.exe is started and turn it on for other games.

Oh ok.Well im going to try it out when i get back anyway. And i agree with you on the 570 will kill anything being played on it [PCSX2].And im hoping the games i wish to play.Start up and run really smooth with no lag frame drop ect.As i know pcsx2 is dodgy with some games when it comes to frame drop heavy lag hehe.Like playing the game on the ps2 console itself is what im expecting.

Yes i do understand this. Was just stating a single 570 & overclocked will play the games i want with no problems at all (should).

It should NOT run 'Shoddy' with my rig hopefully.Unless gta is just one of those games on pcsx2 where they don't go together.Gta was one of the biggest hits on the ps2!.Pcsx2 should run this game perfect having the right pc rig being played on it.Still yet have tried it.Just very curious on how well pcsx2 performs on my system.Being away from my pc for some time just releases a boring feeling hehe.
