I don't know how you've got them now?

The first slider can be anywhere you want that works best(leftmost slider)
Leave the right slider OFF unless you are playing Shadow of the Colossus.

Got Metal Gear Solid 2, and it's lagging pretty bad.

Any advice on tweaks to make that a little more playable?

Aside from what's already posted? Not with your CPU no. That game is extremely demanding. So is MGS3.
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.60~4.20 GHz | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3200
MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super @ 6 GB | Samsung 980 1TB | Windows 10 Pro x64 (22H2)

Your PS2.

It's the GS that seems to be hampering me the most.
EE is fine.

Now way to speed that up a little?

I haven't made any changes to the GS settings on the emulator settings...

It doesn't matter what you change, you won't play MGS2 smoothly with your specs.
MGS2 and 3 are one of the most demanding games on PCSX2. Like jesalvein said, you're better off playing that on your PS2.

It's better to play it on console anyway, unless you have pressure sensitive controllers, because otherwise the gameplay is going to be mildly annoying.

The best you could try is software mode +3 extra rendering threads. If it lags then, playing at your ps2 is the solution for now as others said.

It is actually reasonably close, the GS is about 95% but skips to 100% during certain scenes which causes it to lag.

So I'd like to give that a try at least.

Would you mind telling me how to set it up? Software mode etc...

Would Gran Turismo 4 be on a par, demand wise, as MGS 2/3.
And how would Resident Evil 4 stand in comparison to them?

No I'm emulating it actually.
Does that mean I can't use that method?
