EE and VU cycle overclock (reverse speedhack)

Not only is the PS2 going to be fully emulated, but on top of it having Save States, 1080p, all around better graphics AA & AF, we can now fix the FPS slow downs in PS2 games?

YOU ARE A GOD!

Does the GS need to be overclocked as well? If my game faced frame drop, I would overclock the GPU, not CPU. CPU upgrade/overclocking does not help in gaming performance in most cases.

It will increase the requirements for the emulator, I imagine, by a nice deal. CPU is just as important as CPU. YOu can be CPU limited. PCSX2 does not need a strong GPU.

It varies by game. Shadow of the colossus for example does need a very strong gpu.

We don't really emulate the GS clock cycles, nor is it needed.
We can simulate that well enough by stalling GIF appropriately.

The GS is currently effectively overclocked to infinity as we don't count cycles for it at all. This might be an issue, but surface switches in double buffered games (all games) can be detected so if we find that some games are drawing too much that's probably a better way to slow them down.
