Error with SVN
#1
I've been dying to play my old Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2, but PSCX2 just doesn't want to run it. However, I read somewhere that the latest and greatest SVNs can pull it off.

I downloaded the newest one from the pscx2 website, but now I get a "pscx2.exe has stopped working" error. I'll post the error information and my system at the end. I'd love to get this running ASAP. Also, is there any reason the .exe for revision 5605 is pscx2-r5604.exe ?

Thanks in advance.

Tried disabling the plugin(Config>plugin/bios selector-> change DEV9 plugin to an empty - NULL one) or if it crashes before loading just deleting that dll(from pcsx2\plugins folder)?Tongue

Thanks so much, I don't have much experience troubleshooting emulators. I had to make the Dev9 Null, then make the gs plugin zerogs 0.97.1 with bilinear filtering turned off. Without the gs change it was just black.

Now, everything works up until the actual gameplay starts. I've got pink and white vertical stripes with about 12fps. No regular video.

Zerogs is outdated and very slow, use GSdx, if you had blackscreen with it then for this game and it should be playable in latest version you probably have to use software rendering(either set in GSdx config or just press F9 in game). Your 4ghz amd cpu can still be too slow for software mode, but dunno really since I don't have that game;3.

With software mode its running at 35-50fps, no glitches, just slow. All usages are low except gs, which is pinned around %100.

Scratch that, turned up usable threads in gsdx to 4 and now I'm near the frame limit. Awesome, can't wait to get back into this game I found wedged under a table Tongue . Thanks a ton man, I think I'll get it from here

Ohmy A person who understands geeky named settings by himself ~ it's like WOW - rare stuff among newbies here;3.

Have fun and good luck with ps2 emulation.

Need to patch PCSX2.exe with the 4gb patch. Its needed for the Snowblind games aka Baldurs Gate and Champions of Norrath games
