FF-X Stops in Battle
#21
Since the 30 Purifying Salts needed for "No Encounters" will not be available in the game until later in the game, using the FFXED Save Editor is a very covienient way to deal with the hang/freeze. It also was great for "compiling" my Al Bhed dictionary, since I couldn't do it from my PS2 memory card. Smile

using internal resolution is allot better for image quality than AA
OS: Win 7 Ultimate x64 sp1, MoBo: Asus P5QD Turbo, CPU: Q6600 @ 3,0Ghz, RAM: Trancend 2x2gb 6-6-6-18 800 MHz, GPU: HD 4850 1gb.

You can also use PCSX2 0.9.6 r1888 to pass this area. Just exchange your memory cards.

I've had this issue from time to time, but it was short when battles were loading and I did get the command menu even though I use a lot of speedhacks. It's probably because of the way your CPU is doing floating point work, you might want to use more accurate rounding and clamp settings because without those you tend to get buggy cutscenes and hanging in certain areas of the game.

By the way, your using HW AA?!? I haven't been able to get even 2x working without PCSX2 crashing, so I'll just use a high internal resolution like 1600x1200 or 2048x1536.

Sometimes my 8600GT gets hot during long playing sessions, but not really that hot. Anything over 105 C is a concern and I've never seen above 100 usually.
CPU: Pentium D 'Presler' 915 2.8 ghz 2x2MB L2 @ 3.5 ghz
GPU: eVGA [Nvidia] 8600GT 256MB SSC DDR3
Tested: FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, MGS3, KH, KH2, The Hobbit NTSC
PCSX2 FTW! Biggrin

Currently bugged in DX9, works fine in DX10 or using an older GSdx.
