FFX Aeons - Can't Break Damage Limit
#1
Hey all,

This is my first post. I've been coming here for a while and everything has been working great for me. The forums have been a huge source of help and information. I'm sorry that my first post is about an issue instead of a thanks.

Anyway, to the point. I am playing FFX right now and my Aeons are acting like regular NPC's. It started with Ifrit, Ixion and Shiva being damaged by fire, thunder and blizzard respectively. My aeons are also missing the basic immunities that I would get on my PS2. These problems were not a bid deal previously. However, now that I have Bahamut and Anima they are unable to break the damage limit of 9999.

I did a search for this in the forums but I wasn't able to come up with anything. If I missed the thread on this could someone please post a link to it.

I'm not sure what the issue might be.

Odd, hadn't heard about that problem before. Have you double checked by turning off all the codes to make sure they aren't interfering some how? Disable them, and load a memory card save (NOT a savestate) and play to a part and see if it's still a problem.

If it is, try changing the clamp modes in the advanced options to "full" for both options and see if that fixes it (again, loading from a regular memory card and not a savestate)

It sounds like you have somehow messed up your aeons' equipment. That is why you have lost the Break Damage Limit and immunities.

Use FFXED to open your save and fix the aeon equipment:

Hey Koji I tried you method. It didn't work. Thank for the tip though.

fuzzymillipede I am toying around with your program right now. I'm in the aeons equipment section. Can you give me an example of what their equipment should be.

When I choose ifrits weapon it defaults to whatever lulu has equipped.
I noticed I can make weapons(which is awesome) I just don't want to make them to weak or powerful.

So what damage formula should I use?
Attack power, critical %, auto abilities ect..

I have no experience whatsoever with that program, but if you have to create a weapon/armour for each aeon, I'd assume you'd want:
- Break Damage Limit on the weapon for your Anima, Bahamut, Yojimbo and Magus Sisters (when you get them), and any aeons that are tied with the celestial weapons when you get them.
- Break HP Limit, Ribbon and Deathproof on the armour for all Aeons
- Fire Eater, Lightning Eater, Ice Eater for your respective aeons

booger, you are not quite right.

Open the attached raw save with FFXED to see the default equipment for the aeons. I named it as a text file to get around the block on attachments.

OK, I had a look at my own save file.

Ifrit, Ixion and Shiva:
It's for Ifrit's weapon and armour, but it's the same for the others as well, except replace Fire Eater with Lightning Eater or Ice Eater.

For Valefor:
Same as screenshot, but remove Piercing from weapon and Eater from armour.

For all others:
Same as screenshot, but remove the Eater from armour and add Break Damage Limit to weapon.
