Forgive me if I don't post enough information this time around. I'll come back later with any more information if you need it.
I recently downloaded PCSX2 0.9.8 to play FFX and it has mostly gone well. I usually tend to get slowdowns and FPS drops when a) the background is large, ie massive landscapes (like the long road right after you leave Luca, where you can battle the summoner with Ifrit) or b) right as I save a savestate, but this only lasts for several seconds and then goes back to normal. Otherwise I very rarely see a slowdown.
