FFX crashes, some figured out. cheats questions.

So I figured out a way through a crash while awaiting activation, ill still post that issue and what i did to fix it.

begining of game, after you defeat the sinspawn, theres the save sphere, after that is a cutscene. with the gdsx32 gpu plugin it crashes. I loaded the ZeroGS plugin and havent crashed yet. seems wierd to me, would really like to still figure out the crash the right way to be able to have better graphics.


now ive played FFX on the ps2 and now on the ps3 without cheats, 100% with the ps2 version, ps3 not so much dark aeons are a pain. So i figured id have some fun with the ps2 version with some cheats. as soon as i activate the cheats pcsx2 crashes. if i load them before the game i get to the new game screen(will they even load from a save?) hit new game and BAM get spammed with the following and the program crashes.

i disable cheats and it loads and runs fine.

i got the cheat codes off the forums here. and i only really wanna use tidus max stats, max mp max hp. ability x100 gill gained x100 max items all slots and have all key items.

what am i doing wrong?

What version of PCSX2? FFX is fully playable with no crashes, unless you did something weird.

Back in my early days of pcsx2, I had FFX give me some nasty problems while using cheats. Use this instead if you wish.

The crash at this point was some years ago well known. I actually had the same and solved it like you did. The main problem was a bad iso if I remember correctly. Redoing the rip solved the problem for me. I still played on zerogs since it was the faster gs plugin at that time (pcsx2 v. 0.9.7 (playground) I think Laugh).

How loading bad isos can crash the game dependent on the gs plugin is still unclear to me.

What you show is also a very long list of cheats. Try to enable them one-by-one. These item cheats might be problematic if you are still in the beginning.

the tool datank linked me to is actually pretty nifty. I just wanted to overpower tidus, everyone else can go along the right way.

i thought about a bad iso so i re ripped it same issue. cant seem to use the plugins that come with it to use the disc.
