FFXII IZJS Freeze/Strange Sound in load screen

Hey all, I've run into something very strange while playing FFXII IZJS.

When I'm in the Garamsythe Waterways for the first time, and try to enter into the palace's entrance, the screen goes black like it's about to load, then a strange, harsh whistling sound occurs.

I've tried playing through with the .9.8, 1.0.0, and 1.2.1 versions, with a variety of copies of the game, the (J) version, the english patched (J) version, and a (U) version of the game. I've tried a number of things like turning of all in-game hacks, cheats, and game fixes. It's very confusing why this would happen with multiple versions and multiple emulator updates.

I have played two different versions of this game, that is, with two different CRC numbers. The most recent version is [1E7A88A7], and the one I used to play is [E3AA9B0A]. I don't know much about emulation, I'll be honest, the only thing I know about how these two are different is that their CRC's (and the resulting pnach files used for cheat codes) are different for them.

I don't know if that would have a huge effect on anything.

no ! they didn't affect much! ok try loading directly from memory card then savestate!

WOAH! That worked!? I loaded from the most recent crystal and it worked perfectly. Loaded up without issue. What the heck??
