[FIXED] No Audio in PCSX2 1.2.1
#1
This is a little odd, mainly because it was working fine earlier. I played for a bit, shutdown and exited, but when I went to play again I noticed there was no audio, period, from the emulator.

I have tried this out using my .iso backups for Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Shadow Hearts. Ar Tonelico was played earlier on a test stream with no problems. In case additional information is needed, I have included it below. Is there any way to fix this, short of a clean install (maybe?)?

My specs are:

AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core Processor (3.5GHz)
8GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT630 2GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Plugins:
GSdz 5875 (MSVC 18.00, AVX) 0.1.16
LilyPad svc (r5822) 0.11.0
SPU2-X r5830 2.0.0
cdvdGigaherz (r5822) 0.8.0
USB, FW, and DEV9 are null

GSdx settings:
Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630
Renderer: Direct3D11 (Hardware)
Interlacing: Auto
Native PS2 Resolution
Texture Filtering
HW Hacks Sprite, WildArmsOffset enabled

SPU2-X Settings:
Interpolation: 3 - Hermite
Module: 4 - Portaudio (crossplatform)

Since SPU2-X and GSdx are the only settings I've messed it, I won't list the others unless asked.

I'm smacking myself... because that fixed it.

I did not consider altering the settings because they worked earlier x.x

Thanks!

I noticed in the latest SVN it defaults to portaudio... I wonder why?

I'm guessing there's an issue with portaudio?
What I don't get is why it was working previously, and randomly stopped. Blink

I think I have read that portaudio has a higher performance and is supported by the majority of systems. I think below and including XP portaudio is not usable - in contrast to vista, 7 and 8. And I think it also depends on the soundchip/-card.

Still it is strange that a Windows 7 machine has problems.

Yeah, the plugin may have crashed as well.

Portaudio doesn't work so well for me either, but if i go in to the config and tick "exclusive mode" it works fine.

i also had a problem with no sound in some of the latest svn builds but fixed it by changing to 2-DirectSound (nice)

tbh i'm surprised no-one has mentioned it before Wacko
Not sure what graphics card you have, it's memory bandwidth,
it's temperature, fan speed, what pixel shader it has
try TechPowerUp's gpu-z

Not sure what your cpu is try cpu-z
