Fatal Frame 2 Crashing
#1
I've been browsing the forum for a while, and wasn't able to find a solution for my problem.

Basically, I'm trying to get FF2 to work properly. It does work, though at a certain part the whole emulator just crashes, and I tried this a few times, with the original disc and several iso's.

Now, the part at which the game crashes is, after you get the key for the first mansion you're in, and the girlfriend's ghost of the lost man appears, right after the cutscene the game crashes along with PCSX2.

Anyone got a solution? I'm using the 1.0 version. Thanks in advance.

Went into the logs folder right after the crash.

Well, "Philipp", you are using a USA-BIOS for a PAL\European game.
Stay away from "the old land".

Start by disabling all speed hacks.

Also, try running the game via actual DVD.

PCSX2 can run any game region with any bios region. I hope you are not witch hunting again.

Yiyachi, are you loading from a memory card save? Start by disabling all speed hacks (if any are on) and set GSdx to DX9 software mode, see if that gets you past the crash

Thanks for the answers so far. I've tried several BIOS files, not just the USA one. I'll try running it in Software mode, Speedhacks should be disabled by default, if I'm right.

Edit: Aaaand running the game in Software mode solved it, can't thank you enough, Bositman. ^_^

Now this :
Quote: I've tried several BIOS files, not just the USA one
looks higly suspicious.
I'll close it before it slides to the kind of topic we don't want.
