Fatal Frame III aspect ratio problems
#1
So I'm trying to use this patch for Fatal Frame III:
http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2-Wid...#pid215155

It works fine in PCSX2 1.2.1, but I can't get widescreen patches working in any Git builds and have been unable to for quite a long time. It's not just Fatal Frame III - it's all games but I used that one as a reference because it's what I am going to be playing next, as soon as I can figure out how to get WS working with Git builds.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I tried it in several locations:

PCSX2 directory/cheats/
PCSX2 directory/cheats_ws/
PCSX2 directory/cheats.zip
PCSX2 directory/cheats_ws.zip
users/xxxx/documents/pcsx2/cheats/
users/xxxx/documents/pcsx2/cheats_ws/
users/xxxx/documents/pcsx2/cheats.zip
users/xxxx/documents/pcsx2/cheats_ws.zip

I was also mistaken about it working in 1.2.1, it's not working in that either.

That looks like it's working - the proportions look right in the 1920x1080 shot, whereas the 1440x1080 shot looks squished horizontally / stretched vertically.

It may appear that way, but that's how the game is. I tested on my old CRT with the PS2 itself and it looks the same as the 4:3 image I posted here. Also, the camera viewfinder is a circle as it should be in 4:3, but a more squashed oval shape in 16:9 as show in these images. Smile

The more I look at things, the more it appears that both are the incorrect AR. One is overly squished vertically, and the other horizontally. How do I get an actual 4:3 AR instead of this 1440x1080 semi widescreen image? I have 4:3 set in the window options, and native set in the plugin settings. I imagine if I can figure out how to get the 4:3 image working properly, then the 16:9 will follow.

Have you modified your file? There should be 1 line, not 110!
