Fatal frame always freezes during the final boss fight

During the final boss fight, while pressing O to pose stance, it almost always freezes.  I disabled all speedhacks and left the rest on default.  Using OpenGL SW renderer.

Workaround: This problem seems to surface when you enter finder mode facing towards the path going down to the gate, which is the direction you are in when the battle begins. The solution is to run around the final boss and enter finder mode facing the gate, not the path leading there.
