Alrighty, tried the suggestions and got a 1-2 fps boost. ty squall for the input about my processor, and thanks all for the info. gonna swap over to my gaming rig when i get done moving. it has a lil more umph 
The desktop is a dual core amd athlon64 x2 4800+ clocked at 2.51 ghz. Graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce gt 220 512mb of ddr2 ram. i "think" itll push pcsx2 a little better. 2 gigs of ram also. its a work in progress.
