Yeah well I don't know if they effect the game in any way, I just wanted to give an as good as possible description of my settings because it's running perfectly.

But if the game runs without the patches, i'm gonna turn them off.

Here are my preferences, in case I can help anyone with it:

The general config

Graphics

CPU

Sound

Speed Hacks

Advanced Stuff

Oh and check Enable Patches of course.

Limiting frames to 60 or 65 would be good I think, because the sound in the FMVs tends to jump when faster (also because of 3x cycle). I get 50+ frames outside fights, ~40 in fights (depends on effects of course) and 70+ in the FMVs. Btw, I use Daemon Tools 4.30.1. If you have more questions, ask.

Hope I could help.

EDIT: If you want to limit the fps, either do this BEFORE you make a savestate or play until you reach the first savepoint (only a few minutes). If you make a savestate and try to load it with changed fps settings, the app will crash (at least mine did). Loading a saved game will work though.

I know this is old but I googled my way here after many hours of searching for a way to fix my game which crashed on the way to the summoners sanctum in HOME, and nothing worked until i copied these settings and i got past it first shot, and put everything back again the way I like it and runs like a dream. I thought I was done for but these worked perfectly.

RE: Final Fantasy X crash
I have a similar problem to the original poster.. but at a different point..

I have got right thru to Djosie temple.. where Yuna gets that unicorn Aeon.. Everyone is stood outside waiting on her and you go in.. wake her up and then go back outside.. Yuna follows and everyone starts playfully picking on her.. then after Tidus says "I realised I was the only one laughing" or something like that.. the camera changes to show only Yuna. at that it freezes.. jerks around a bit and then crashes.. Strange that I should get that far in the game for it to lockup at that point.. any ideas?

@Addy1243: I completely agree. I never encountered this bug and your explanation makes perfect sense.
