Downloaded it, application comes up properly but when i try to start up the actual emulator it immediately crashes. Why does it have to be so difficult, i just want a bit of nostalgia Sad

Well, if you can't get PCSX2 CE to work, you have the option of bootcamp. If you really loathe windows it's possible to bootcamp in to linux as well(though complicated) and the linux PCSX2 is as up to date as windows.
