Final Fantasy XII running slow
#21
2.4-2.5 ghz might be good enough to play ffx12 in native full speed, but to play high resolution around 1920x1080 clock around 3.0ghz is needed.
soukasy is that Pentium 4 @ 5.1 ghz ? is it stable and do you keep it at that clock all the time, how is it performing can u run FFXII full speed on it?

(works like a charm in ff12) and 3) try not using a too high resolution in gsdx. even though your gpu should be able to play it at least at x4 the normal res. and most importantly dont use d3d9 software use d3d10 HARDWARE(or 11 depends on plugins etc).
also in advanced options of the 1888 (that u must use!!!) put BOTH clamp modes to NONE it will give a speed boost and not do anything bad to that specific game.!
everything u need is in the download section of the forum!

Hey, I really have no idea what ssse3 is. Where do you download it. I looked in the download section on the forum and didn't see anything of the sort. Also what is this 1888 thing that must be used?

ssse3 is a C2D,i3,i5 and i7 instruction set. and it's a hardware not a software.

Ok, well how about this. I'll follow suit and post my configuration and you guys can point out my mistakes. Sorry if I'm flooding a bit but I've been reading this forum for a few hours now tinkering with my config and I can't seem to get it right.

if youre not using latest beta 3878 download it, you will get more speed out of it, in graphics (GS) drop box select the highest SSE available like sse2, sse3, ssse3, sse4.1, sse4.2, select the highest available, then configure, choose dx11 hardware and set desired internal resolution, the better gpu you have the higher res you can set without slowdowns, then go to emulation settings, speed hacks and check recommended speed hacks, and test if its still slow crank up EE and VU (that might cause some bugs especially the higher u set them), speed hacks are all about trying what works best for you, best thing is to overclock to around 3-3.2 ghz.

So, I downloaded the 3878 and now I can't even get it to load the game at all. It keeps on crashing on startup.

"pcsx2-r3878.exe has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution..."
When I say crash, I mean crash.
