Hi I want to ask dear gamers sth:
Actually my pc spec are:
AMD X2 4400+(2.3Ghz)
2GB DDR 667
GF 8600GT GIGABYTE (oc)
Win XP Professional Sp2
Because my mainboard have amd socket I have to buy better amd cpu to increase my fps in pcsx2 0.9.6. For example in:
Persona 4 35-60Fps
Magna Carta 20-30
Suikoden III 15-30
Digital Devil Saga 40-55
I want to upgrade my cpu to AMD x2 6400+(3.2Ghz)
Will that allow me to play listed games or other ps2 games in playable speed? And by that I mean 60+ almost all the time. Will the difference(from 2.3 to 3.2) will be enough to think about upgrading? I saw recommended cpu for pcsx2 and AMD 6400+ is listed there.
Thx for reply

Well, I own a x2 6000 @ 3.3 ghz.
And no, not always full speed. Sometimes even not over 40 fps.

It will provide a big boost, especially if you overclock it. Some games are still gonna be slow, but most games that are "friendly" with PCSX2 will run at full speed with few or no speedhacks.
ASUS G50Vt-X1
Intel C2D P8400 @ 2.64GHz / 4GB DDR2-800 SDRAM
GeForce 9800M GS 512MB DDR3 @ 617/1550/828 (DOX 182.46)
320GB 7200rpm HDD / 1366x768 15.6" LCD / Vista x64
Crysis@1280x720 MEDIUM: 56.5FPS
3dMark06@1366x768: 10,145

Gsdx's ssse3 version and above have a huge difference in speed in comparison to sse2.
Any AMD cpu will allow you to only use the sse2 version and nothing higher. So if you wanna upgrade then upgrade to an Intel CPU. They are even good for overclocking.

Not sure, I tried both SSSE3 and SSE2 and didn't notice any speed differences. DX10 and DX9, yes, huge difference, but sse2 and ssse3..? Hardly.

I'm playing almost only RPG games like Suikoden, FF, Magna Carta, Digital devil saga and persona. So I just need to know if I will be able to play with TRUE playable speeds 60+fps and all these games are marked as playable at pcsx2 0.9.6. Actually i was playing persona and it was rather good except fights with more than 2 enemies at First dungeon castle where fps drops to 35 and that was not comfortable. So to conlude i need to know if that cpu change will bring me enough effects of comfortable playable speed. I'm not going to buy INTEL cpu because I have mainboard for AMD socket and want only to change cpu for now(rest of my pc is good enough I think).
So is it worthwile or it will only increase fps slightly?

So 3200/2300x100% = ~36% more fps that's not much :/

Yeah, amd (athlon64) systems are not good for pcsx2.
We know it sucks, but you need the fastest you can get.
Check if you can use a phenom2. That one could be ok for your needs.
